Career History
From Engineering to Data Engineering
David began his career in Boots, having studied Engineering, Science and Technology at Loughborough University and then continued to study and gain vocational consultancy experience at the University of Cambridge on the Advanced Course of Design Manufacture and Management
David used his technical and project management skills to drive process improvements in large organisations including Boots, Kerry Foods and Catalent
Then, adding data analytics skills to drive improvements in reporting in E.ON, 3M and Bistro Pierre, where the combination of the engineering and data analytics abilities merged together to improve data engineering at Robin Hood Energy, Digital Space and Delta Financial Services
David Joined Select Distinct in 2022 and has been a key lead in providing data warehousing at a range of clients
About David Laws
Since joining Select Distinct in 2022, David has been instrumental across a range of activities including leading the rollout of the data warehouse project at Revolution Beauty
David used his data integration expertise to improve the ETL processes to load the data warehouse. You can read more about this in the case study here
When he is not working with data analytics, David enjoys spending his time with his family and is a keen runner.
